Brok Records: We’re not just a movement, we…really need the money!

Technically, this isn’t new music, but it’s new to me. Yesterday, I was cruising the coffeehouse section of Yahoo’s launch cast. It was hump day, so I just wanted to bring a relax mood to my office. After hearing Jack Johnson a million times (love the dude, but can there be a quota for his songs each hour?), I felt like going surfing in the Hudson River.
While walking away from my desk to get my surfboard, I heard harmonic humming coming from my speakers. It felt like she was telling me to sit down and listen. As I sat an earthy and soothing voice started singing to me. It was sadness, loneliness, joy, and passion wrapped into one verse. I never heard of Hope before, so I wrote it down in hope (pun intended) of finding it on limewire (Hope, if you reading this, sorry) later in the day. After replaying the song in my head for the past 24 hours I had to have it my mp3 player. Give it a listen and let us know what you think…Trust me you will be trying to find more of her music. Please go out and support this girl (Hope that made up for my limewire comment)!
