Metal Gear Online
Can’t wait for june ? Got to have something to tame the metal gear beast in you? well Mr. kojima has provided everyone with a beta but not for MGS 4 but for MGO. If you reserved MGS 4 then you should have received a promo disc which featured everything from trailers to a promo code on the back that allows you to play the beta.

Now to the game itself. As simple as I can start this I first have to say if you love playing fast pace shooters such as quake or unreal, etc then this game is definitly not gonna be for you for the simple fact that it’s still based off of stealth which the map you start off with will never show that. The models stay in a S.W.A.T like form basically tip toeing and depending on the weapon you have it will determine your speed. If you use a knife your able to run at top speed but if you switch to a sniper rifle then your at your slowest, every other weapon falls in between those two.

The gameplay is simply the same as the other MGS from rolling on the floor to how you use your weapons. Best thing I’ve seen so far is the upgrades you will be able to do. From CQC ( Close Quarter Combat ), guns to how far you’ll be able to zoom in and setting traps, etc. You will also be able to customize your character faces, clothes and accessories.

They also put in different types of matches such as deathmatch, team deathmatch and alot more which I was’nt able to see yet, dammitt!!
The first and only map your able to play on is like a desert headquarters for some group. It has tunnels and platforms for you to run around but the board is still very tight ( small ).
The aim icons for the guns is pretty wide so its hard to tell exactly where your shooting but maybe this is an area where you will need to upgrade. For a beta the game still moved very smoothly. No drops or lagg was going on while I played which is a great sign.

I still will like to see alot more from this game but for starters it’s not that bad but then again I am one of the biggest MGS fans so I might be a little bias at times but at the same time I like when a game tries something different then do the same old game we are use to playing and MGO is definitly different.
